Virtual tour

Following the “Open Doors” principle, TPBI aims to offer virtual access to the general public to depots, workshops, and spaces designated for other activities related to its main business of passenger transportation.

  • On the occasion of its 7th anniversary, TPBI invites you to explore our institution through a virtual tour and meet the team that works every day to provide quality and efficient public transportation in the Bucharest-Ilfov Region. From here, the TPBI team coordinates the four public passenger transport operators – STB SA, STV SA, STCM Ecotrans, and Regio Serv Transport – ensuring services for all 40 localities in Ilfov County and in Bucharest. Here, routes are planned, regulations are monitored, and projects are developed. The TPBI team has actively contributed to and supported the approval and financing of a significant number of projects, totaling 149,448,716 euros including VAT. Every corner of the institution reflects our commitment to the community and the continuous development of public transportation. Let’s celebrate together the progress and dedication of the TPBI team!

  • The first publication was a virtual tour of the STB SA Museum Exhibition. Here, you can see tickets, subscriptions, badges, controllers’ uniforms, postcards, models, and many other items collected by Doru Parfenie, an employee of STB SA passionate about the history of this public service. He donated all the items he had collected over time to the Bucharest transport company, and they are now on display in a building of STB SA located at 4 Trapezului Street, Sector 3. If you don’t have time to visit, we offer you this virtual tour.

  • The story of the Bujoreni Depot, located in the western part of the capital, began in 1982, with a wide range of trolleybuses assigned here, from DAC vehicles to Saurer models (converted into trolleybuses at URAC from buses imported from Switzerland), Rocar 412 EA, and the prototype Rocar 812EA Autodromo. Between 2020 and 2022, the depot managed all 130 Mercedes-Benz Citaro Hybrid buses purchased by the Bucharest City Hall.
  • Today, the Bujoreni Depot has Ikarus 415T trolleybuses, Irisbus Citelis, and the new Solaris Trollino 12M, delivered this year, purchased by the municipality with European funds through projects supported by TPBI. It also has several of the new ZTE Granton 12m electric buses assigned here. The trolleybus with fleet number 5329 (Irisbus Citelis) is used for the periodic training of STB drivers and future employees. Additionally, within this STB SA unit, there are two maintenance halls, one designed for performing the technical inspection (ITP), a covered washing area, and charging stations for electric buses. The current active fleet of the Bujoreni Depot operates on trolleybus lines 61, 62, 63, 69, 93, 96, as well as on line 368 with the ZTE Granton 12m electric buses.

  • The Militari Depot, one of the most important tram depots in Bucharest, is celebrating 50 years of existence. Located in the western part of the capital, on a land area of over 3 hectares, on Preciziei Boulevard, the Militari Depot began its operations in 1974 with the delivery of Tatra T4R trams, manufactured in Czechoslovakia. The Militari Depot was the only unit to operate Tatra trams. At one point, in the 2000s, this depot managed about 100 trams, the largest number of trams among all depots at that time. Currently, the depot operates Tatra T4R, Bucur 1 (V2A-T), V3A-93, and Astra Imperio Metropolitan trams. These vehicles serve lines 10, 25, and 47. This depot was also the location where the 100 Astra Imperio Metropolitan trams produced in Arad were delivered, assembled, and later relocated to STB units based on the planned depot for their entry into service.
