Tram line 40 will operate on a modified route from April 4th to April 7th 2025, due to works involving the resizing of the public drinking water and sewage network on Arhiereul Calist Street, at the intersection with Calea Călărași. To accommodate passengers in the areas where trams will not be running, the Intercommunity Development Association for Public Transport Bucharest – Ilfov (TPBI) will establish shuttle bus line 640 during this period.
Thus, trams on line 40 will run on their regular route between the “Bd. Theodor Pallady” terminal and the Bd. Basarabia/ Bd. Chișinău intersection, then on a modified route in both directions via Bd. Chișinău, Șos. Pantelimon, Șos. Iancului, Bd. Pache Protopopescu, Str. Traian, Calea Călărași, Bd. Corneliu Coposu, Str. Sf. Vineri, ending at the “Piața Sf. Vineri” terminal.
Shuttle bus line 640 will run on the following route: “Bd. Basarabia” terminal, Str. Lucrețiu Pătrășcanu, Bd. Basarabia, Calea Călărași, Bd. Corneliu Coposu, Str. Sf. Vineri, terminating at “Piața Sf. Vineri,” with return service via Bd. Mircea Vodă, Calea Călărași, Bd. Basarabia, Str. Lucrețiu Pătrășcanu, and back to the “Bd. Basarabia” terminal.
