The Intercommunity Development Association for Public Transport Bucharest – Ilfov (TPBI) is reorganizing public transport in the Basarabia-Chișinău Boulevards area due to ongoing works on the tram track infrastructure at the intersection of the two boulevards.Thus, starting Tuesday, May 6, 2025, two new tram lines, 4 and 49, will be introduced, providing connections between Basarabia Boulevard and Piața Sfânta Vineri, as well as Theodor Pallady Boulevard. Line 40 will operate between the “Bd. Basarabia” and “Piața Sfânta Vineri” stations, and lines 14 and 640 will be suspended.

Thus, starting May 6, 2025, tram lines 4, 40, and 49 will operate as follows:

  • Tram line 4 will run between the “Bd. Nicolae Grigorescu” station and the “Piața Sf. Vineri” terminal on the route: “Bd. Nicolae Grigorescu”, Basarabia Boulevard, Chișinău Boulevard, Pantelimon Road, Ferdinand I Boulevard, Traian Street, Calea Călărașilor, Corneliu Coposu Boulevard, Sf. Vineri Street, “Piața Sf. Vineri”, returning via Sf. Vineri Street, Corneliu Coposu Boulevard, Calea Călărașilor, Basarabia Boulevard, and the “Bd. Nicolae Grigorescu” station.

  • Tram line 40 will run between the “Bd. Basarabia” station and the “Piața Sf. Vineri” terminal on the route: “Bd. Basarabia” station, Basarabia Boulevard, Calea Călărașilor, Corneliu Coposu Boulevard, Sf. Vineri Street, “Piața Sf. Vineri”, returning via Sf. Vineri Street, Corneliu Coposu Boulevard, Calea Călărașilor, Traian Street, Ferdinand I Boulevard, Pantelimon Road, Chișinău Boulevard, and the “Bd. Basarabia” station.

  • Tram line 49 will run between the “Bd. Theodor Pallady” terminal and the “Bd. Basarabia” station on the route: Bd. Theodor Pallady terminal, Theodor Pallady Boulevard, 1 Decembrie 1918 Boulevard, “Bd. Basarabia” station, and return.

Bus line 637 will continue to provide the connection between “M Republica” and Chișinău Boulevard, while line 102 will operate in both directions along Basarabia Boulevard.
