The “Interreg URBACT IV” programme, through which the Beyond the Urban project is funded, supports local and regional administrations in developing integrated policies and strategies for sustainable urban development. Its main objective is to promote the exchange of good practices between cities and to contribute to the improvement of urban policies at the European level.

Between June 25–26, 2025, the fifth transnational meeting of the “Beyond the Urban” project took place in Bram, France, with the participation of members of the project team from the Intercommunity Development Association for Public Transport Bucharest–Ilfov (TPBI).

The event brought together the project teams of the network’s 10 partners to continue exchanging experiences and best practices related to connectivity between rural and urban areas, with a focus on mobility culture and sustainable behaviours.

The programme included theoretical sessions and practical workshops on tourism infrastructure serving local residents, occasional mobility, and active transport in rural areas. Local exploration activities and thematic visits were also organised, contributing to a better understanding of the solutions applied in Bram to promote green mobility and community engagement.

The meeting provided an ideal framework for strengthening cooperation among partners, preparing the next steps in project implementation, and reviewing the Integrated Action Plans aimed at achieving more sustainable and inclusive development in the participating regions.
