SMARTAUTO aims to harness the full potential of autonomous vehicles to shape the future of mobility. The project brings together seven different regions across Europe to understand, model, and maximize the benefits of autonomous vehicles while carefully addressing the challenges involved in this technological transformation.
The main objectives of SMARTAUTO are:

Creating a strong network to connect regions with different levels of experience in autonomous vehicles, accelerating innovation, sharing best practices, and supporting all regions in realizing their potential and managing automation challenges in the transport sector.

Analyzing and learning from the successes and challenges of previous pilot projects.

Developing the capacity to use tools for assessing the social, environmental, and economic impact of autonomous vehicles to support informed, intelligent, and efficient public policy decisions.
