Project Title: Integrated ITS Smart & Green Mobility System for the Bucharest-Ilfov Region – Passenger Information in Public Transport Stations
Implementation Period: January 2023 – June 2026

Description:
The project is an integrated initiative at the level of the Bucharest-Ilfov region aiming to standardize the method of identifying public transport stations, as well as informing passengers about public transport vehicle schedules at all existing stations in the region. It involves investments in public transport stations so that users of public transport benefit from both static and real-time information.

The general objective of the investment is the digitization of passenger information services in stations to increase the attractiveness of the public transport system by integrating and ensuring interoperability between services and operators, reducing transport-related emissions by lowering the modal share of private individual transport, and improving the quality of the transport service by increasing its predictability.

Additionally, the investment aims to adapt the system to the needs of people with disabilities by equipping it with audio devices.

The integrated project targets equipping approximately 1,615 stations, of which funding is secured for about 1,120 stations in the Bucharest-Ilfov region.
