Lines 4 and 40 – suspended starting Monday. TPBI reinstates lines 14 and 640

The Intercommunity Development Association for Public Transport Bucharest – Ilfov (TPBI) is reorganizing public passenger transport in the Basarabia–Chișinău boulevards area, due to the start of tram track works on Chișinău Boulevard. Therefore, starting Monday, 11.08.2025, lines 4 and 40 will be suspended, and tram line 14 and the shuttle bus line 640 will be reinstated.

Line 14 will operate between “Piața Sfânta Vineri” and the “Pantelimon” terminal, on the following route: “Piața Sf. Vineri”, Str. Sf. Vineri, Bd. Corneliu Coposu, Calea Călărașilor, Str. Traian, Bd. Ferdinand, Șos. Pantelimon, “Pantelimon” and return.

The shuttle buses of line 640 will operate on the route: “Bd. Basarabia” (terminus of lines 70, 79, and 455), Str. Lucrețiu Pătrășcanu, Bd. Basarabia, Calea Călărași, Bd. Corneliu Coposu, Str. Sfânta Vineri, “Piața Sf. Vineri”, returning via Str. Sfânta Vineri, Bd. Mircea Vodă, Calea Călărași, Bd. Basarabia, Str. Lucrețiu Pătrășcanu, “Bd. Basarabia”.

Trams on line 49 will continue to run between the “Bd. Theodor Pallady” terminal and “Bd. 1 Decembrie 1918”, while the connection between “M Republica” and Chișinău Boulevard will be provided by shuttle bus line 637.
