Project Title: Fast-track and mainstream the replication of innovative, urban, peri-urban, and rural mobility solutions (Coordination and Support Action)
Implementation Period: February 1 2021 – July 25 2023

Description:

FastTrack is a CSA (Coordination and Support Action) project coordinated by ICLEI – Local Governments for Sustainability (Germany) and fully funded under the Horizon 2020 program. Its main objective was to support urban, peri-urban, and rural areas by enhancing resilience to climate change through the implementation of sustainable mobility innovations in 24 European cities. The project ran until July 2023 and brought together 20 affiliated local authorities (including TPBI), four ambassador partners (Antwerp, Bologna, Budapest, and Stockholm), and four technical partners: EUROCITIES (Belgium), Mobiel 21 (Belgium), CERTH (Greece), Vectos (UK & Germany), and EIP – European Integrated Projects (Romania).

As part of the project, local authorities, including the Municipality of Bucharest, received guidance and support for investments in the transport network and its management. The project also facilitated the transition to more energy-efficient, safer, and more active transport modes, as well as the development of new operational and business models for public and private passenger transport.
